Spyware & Adware Cleaning Programs

Ad-Aware has a user-friendly interface that allows you to safely remove spyware. Search and Destroy can isolate/fix additional items, but can also potentially damage system files - you should have a good understanding of the operating system before using it.

SpywareBlaster will 'innoculate' your system against known spyware. Since it needs to create a specific defense for each spyware program, you need to update/run this program frequently - like a virus checker.

WinPatrol alerts you when new spyware attempts to install itself on your computer. It also allows you to disable programs that start up automatically when you start your computer.

Student Support Services

UNM is currently developing a consolidated Student Support Help Desk for all enrollment management functions. This help desk will be answering questions for Admissions (Undergraduate, Graduate, International, and Non-degree), Registration, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Bursar/Cashiers, Graduate Studies, and General Advisement issues.

To access these services:

  • First, check out the OneStop website of useful information and links
  • Next, if you can't find the information you need, you can use one of the search fields to drill down specifically to your question.
  • Or, if at this point, you would like to ask a specific question that doesn't have an answer already, you can submit an Ask a Question for an email response or you can Chat Live with a support agent.
